Liposuction
What is it: Removal of excess fat with a suction device to improve contour
Local or General anaesthesia
Duration: Varies on amount of liposuction - 1 hour to 3 hours
Downtime: Varies - minimal to 2 weeks
What is liposuction
Liposuction is designed to remove excess fat deposits from specific areas of the body, such as the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, arms, and neck. It involves using a suction technique with a thin tube called a cannula, which is inserted through small incisions in the skin to break up and suction out the fat. The goal of liposuction is to contour and reshape targeted areas, enhancing overall body proportions. It is not a weight-loss solution but rather a body-sculpting method for those with stubborn fat deposits.
Is liposuction for me?
Liposuction may be suitable for you if you have stubborn fat deposits in specific areas of your body that do not respond to diet and exercise. Ideal candidates are in good overall health, within 30% of their ideal weight, have firm, elastic skin, and realistic expectations about the outcomes.

If you have any of these wishes, this operation is indeed for you.
During the procedure
During liposuction, you can be either awake or asleep and aesthetic solution is administered for comfort. Small incisions are made near the targeted areas. A thin tube called a cannula is inserted through these incisions to loosen excess fat and suction this out using a surgical vacuum or syringe attached to the cannula. The surgeon carefully moves the cannula back and forth to break up the fat and contour the area. Once the desired amount of fat is removed, the incisions are closed, and dressings are applied.
